Vista Idol is over

I am so proud of my son! He is an amazingly talented musician. He did a wonderful job playing the Star Spangled Banner, Jimi Hendrix style, and Johnny B. Good at our Vista Idol show. He even looked like he was enjoying himself most of the time. I saw him smiling...usually he is concentrating so hard he forgets. It was a really nice program. There were kids with loads of talent. As in American Idol style, vocalists won the show. We had two winners since we just couldn't tell who the audience was yelling the loudest for. Here's our boy!

Rehearsal Tuesday

Well, tomorrow is the Vista Idol program. The kids rehearsed their performances until 6pm. One of my son's guitar strings broke right before his performance. Is there a superstition about a poor rehersal being followed by a great opening night? Hope that is how it goes for him. I tried to take him to find a decent shirt to wear...he wants tie-dye. Nobody is carrying tie-dye right now....so no shirt. At least he has a belt so his pants won't fall down on stage. I guess that's all I can ask.

Here are the cabled fingerless gloves I've been working on. One has a thumb gusset now! Maybe I'll finish them to wear in New York.

Vista Idol Round 2

Look who made it past round 2 in auditions for Vista Idol. He'll be playing "The Star-Spangled Banner" Jimi Hendrix style next Wednesday to open the Vista Idol/rap concert at school. Can't wait to see him tear it up!
