More New Starts

Once again it's been a long week. State testing for my students is next week. Lots of last minute review and checking progress. I volunteered for a program they put on to motivate students Thursday night, too bad hardly anyone came. I haven't had much time to knit. I started three pairs of socks last weekend. They are my own designs. They aren't very far along. Hope I can finish them soon.
Here are two of them.

A new washcloth

I was so excited by the dragonfly cloths I decided to make myself a few washcloths. I wanted a personalized design and settled on an initiial for the design. I drew up and charted the letter, then knitted up the cloth. I am not thrilled with the results as it puckers and bumps up somewhat irregularly. I may try some sort of adaptation of the stitch pattern to see how it works. I the meantime I have my own monogrammed washcloth.

Quiet Sunday

Here's the shibori-ish scarf I have been designing and constructing. It's different from my original idea of weaving colored yarn in a spiral through the weave of empty bubbles. That was too hard to keep from turning into a messy looking lump. I can't decide whether to felt this now. I am afraid the scarf itself will felt too much and I like the open stitches of the stockinette stitch. It seems airy.
My other project today was oatmeal fruit cookies. I've had too much dried fruit in the cupboard with nobody eating it. Hopefully it'll move a little faster now.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a great week!
