Still searching for my camera dock

I've been really bad at keeping my blog up. Teaching is really consuming. When I am not teaching, I am trying to organize my house. I haven't got my yarn in a reachable place yet. I did go to Yarn Deli last night and knit a while. I worked a little on my OM illusion scarf. I really should finish it. I designed it in January and started it then. When my yarn choices interfered with the first side illusion showing up very well, I put it aside. It's still a pretty scarf. I am hoping the OM will show on the other side.
Here are pictures of the second half of the scarf. I guess it's still difficult to see. I didn't really want it to be too overt, but I think I'd like it show a little more.

Missing camera dock

Okay, I am finally ready to download some photos onto my computer and add them to my blog...of course now I can't find my camera dock. Great.
Promise I am coming back soon. I have knitting from this summer to add.
I haven't knit a stitch since I got home. Too much getting school going and organizing at home. My yarn is mostly moved into my bedroom. Okay maybe half...or less if I really think about it. I don't think much of it is going to fit in the bookcases. I guess I could start trying to put it in and see how far I get. I still have a bit of dusting to do. They are antique lawyers bookcases and were stored in pieces. They are put together and wiped down, but I really should polish them up a bit more.

Everyone is back at school

It's been an unbelievably busy week. I went back to work/school last Friday. The kids went back this Thursday.
We lost a wonderful friend the day we got home from New York. He was hit head on the road I drive to work every day. John Anderson was a really good man. We miss him a lot.
In addition to getting my classroom put together and organized, I've been working hard to move all my yarn, art and knitting books, and craft and flameworking materials out of the guest room. It is amazing how much yarn I have. It is daunting to even remotely figure where it can all go. My son is out of the army and moving home for a while. I am so glad to have him. Having him home is so much better than having hobbies.

New Mexico to Home?

We've got to make good time today. My son's friend is moving out of state on Friday and we need to get back by Thursday for them to hang out before he leaves. Not to mention a good night's sleep before I go back to work on Friday.

It's Tuesday and we're almost to Missouri. Don't know what today will bring. We need to get moving!
3:30 am and we just touched down in Santa Rosa New Mexico...time to sleep.

On the Road Again

Parting memories as we leave the Adirondacks. I can't describe the sadness I feel every time we leave camp. It is such an alive place. Very different from Southern California.Innisfree from the dock

Early in the morning on our last day.
The beach on Seventh Lake.

Once again we are driving across the country. This time from New York to California. We actually left yesterday. Not making great time, but we did stop at another yarn shop.
We caught a mouse in the Havaheart trap. To assure it did not return we took it in the motorboat to the other side of the lake and let it go there.

This is the yarn store I stopped at in Springfield, Ohio. Here is the machinery at work at YarnSmiths. I bought some boucle yarn of cashmere, silk, and nylon called Truffles. Here it is being spun. I wanted enough for a sweater, but not mixed colorways so they spum up some on the spot and I got to watch! It is undyed so I can make it any color I want. They do have some lovely colorways.
I don't know what I was thinking. I didn't get a picture of Ann or the front showroom. There are other popular yarns besides their own. They have a HUGE table for knitting night on Wednesdays. I understand there are sometime 50 ot more people at a time. The table must hold about 30. We had such a lovely visit.

Yeah, I disappeared a while...

Wouldn't you if you had these great kids to hang out with? It's so good to have us all together in such a magical place.

I haven't blogged in a while. The whole family has been at camp. We've been having fun together! Justin is out of the Army!!! We took a flight over the Fulton Chain of Lakes to celebrate. This is the pontoon plane we rode in.
Meet Tom Payne who flies out of Seventh Lake. He's a great guide! He even took us over and showed us an Osprey nest far from the populated areas.
This is Raquette Lake from the air.

Mr Bill has been very busy too, though I don't know how much fun he is having.
