So Close I Can Almost Taste It!

Only three days left of the school year! With students that is. I have to take everything down, pack it up, clean and get my paperwork in. One day extra to check out and I'm FREE!!!! From that kind of work anyway. Appointments, car service, household upkeep, and driving back East will keep me really busy!

Andres Wine Pairiing Party

Dean and Michelle Andres were wonderful hosts to a great party! I was impressed. I enjoyed meeting mom Beverly and brother Eddie too. Such warm people. The food was terrific and the wines to die for. Now if I can only remember the names of my favorites.

Mike Gagnier and girlfriend Heather sang for us. Impressve voices. I didn't know Mike sang too.


My husband Paul was my designated driver. I hope he had some fun. He was amused by all us teachers letting our hair down. It was good to be looked after so well.

And there was some dancing by the diehards after most everyone left.

Last day of school tomorrow

Well, it's here. I say good-bye to another batch of students. They have been a nice, yet precocious bunch. I really like kids with a spark in their eyes. These definitely have sparks! I will miss them. Can't wait to see what cool things they will do with their lives. It was rewarding to spend this time with them. I guess that's the reason I am still doing it.

Awards given and closing of classroom

Today was our annual student recognition awards night for who we consider to be our top two students for the year. I was able to announce the 4 awards for my partner and myself. We chose our award winners together. We were able to give medallions to our entire Academic Pentathlon team and alternates for all their hard work. My partner announced them and I got to put their medals on. It's nice to get a chance to recognize such amazing kids. Although I am not at my best on a stage. I fumbled and dropped things all over the place. I hope none of my students or their parents were taking video of the awards.

Only two more days to pack my classroom up. I was all excited to be able to store materials in cabinets since I am no longer in a portable building with only one small rolling cabinet. It seems that there are no keys that will lock any of my classroom cabinets. I may have to bring a bunch of stuff home anyway. I don't understand why it always has to be so complicated.
